The Challenge The Human Promise Gives You
Desmond Tutu stated- "My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together."
Human existence is based on ideas. Everything that human beings have developed or achieved are rooted in a simple thought and idea. World history has established and proven that a thought and idea can have amazing and beautiful consequences. The premise and idea of The Human Promise is that as individuals, as a society, and members of a global village we must reach a greater level of understanding and existence as fellow human beings.
The challenge to all of us is to perceive, accept, and view everyone, from a different perspective and actively accepting all as human beings. This challenge may seem unrealistic, daunting and impossible. However, world history and humanity have proven, over and over again, that humanity has a deep rooted gift of perseverance and hope to make things better and achieve what at one point seemed impossible.
John F. Kennedy expressed, “Nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on.”
Nelson Mandela noted, “It always seems impossible until it is done.”
John Cage, an American Composer, shared “I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. noted, "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
When considering the premise and idea of The Human Promise it is time that each and every one embrace the idea and live The Human Promise in every aspect of our lives. This is not a mere simplistic approach to life, but a real and deep commitment to living as members of the human race and foster positive change and unity through humanity.
